To be clear from the start, Madden NFL 21 is still a professional NFL team game. There is no varsity game mode or anything like that. It’s probably still too risky for EA to take college football too seriously in an online game. That being said, EA gives college football fans something at least in Rise to Fame, Face of the Franchise. In this game mode, you’ll play the entire career of a character created from high school to the Hall of Fame, hopefully. And yes, along the way you can play for a college team and experience it briefly before moving on to the combine, the draft, and possibly the pros. You can choose from the following teams when you start the game mode and play some games with the team of your choice: • Clemson Tigers • Florida alligators • LSU Tigers • Miami Hurricanes • Michigan State Spartans • Nebraska Cornhuskers • Oklahoma Sooners • Oregon Ducks • Texas longhorns • USC Trojans Of course, you won’t be able to play as just any real-life college gamer, as that’s always a big no-no until players can be properly compensated for their resemblance.
