World of Warcraft Classic: What Is Next?

The latest raid for Classic World of Warcraft has been available for a few days. That should be the last content update for the Classic version of the game. Blizzard has yet to make announcements about the future of the game. However, if Classic WOW follows the steps of the original game, as it did up until now, we could soon see a classic version of the Burning Crusade, the first expansion set for the original game.

Blizzard released The Burning Crusade on 16 January 2007, in Europe and North America. At the time of the release, it broke the record of the fastest-selling PC video game of all time. The burning received a good review from players and gaming press alike. The Burning Crusade expanded the original game in interesting ways. It added two races to the game, the Draenei for the Alliance and the Blood Elves for the Horde. This allowed horde player to play as paladins and Alliance ones to play as Shaman.

The Burning Crusade also increased the level cap from 60 to 70and added new zones to the game. There even was a whole new planet called Outland, which came with its quests, its dungeons, raids, cities and even new monsters and other creatures. The expansion also revamped the PvP arena system and added 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 death-match battles to the game. It added new PvP arenas.

Concerning the story, the Burning Crusade recounts the return of the Burning Legion on Azeroth. The forces of the legion had been defeated during the events of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. The events of the expansion start when the Doom Lord Kazzak helped the Burning Legion to invade Azeroth one more time, by reopening the dark portal leading to Outland. The forces of the Alliance and the Horde passed through the portal to stop the invasion, putting them at odds against a returning foe, Illidan Stormrage.

The players had to fight through hordes of demons and Illidan’s minions to succeed in stopping this new invasion. The Burning Crusade introduced new characters to World of Warcraft and marked the return of old acquaintances like Kael’thas Sunstrider, a blood elf who first appeared in Warcraft 3. If Blizzard continues its support of Classic WOW, we will soon see a new expansion for the game. If you need WoW Classic gold to enjoy this last update, you can head to GoldPiles.com
